Sokcho is one of Korea’s most popular summer destinations — a coastal city on the east coast of Gangwon Province, about two to two-and-a-half hours from Seoul by car. Koreans head here for the seafood at Jungang Market, the beaches (Sokcho Beach and Lighthouse Beach are the two main ones), and Seoraksan National Park just inland. In July and August, it gets seriously busy — which means hotel prices follow suit.
Most decent options push past ₩300,000 a night during peak season. I Park Suite Sokcho came in at ₩146,000 — which made us look twice. We stayed one night (July 25–26) with our young child, booked a City View Deluxe Twin, and ended up getting an upgrade. Here’s what we found.

🤔 Why We Chose I Park Suite
Our Sokcho trip was packed from the start — Jungang Market, Sokcho Beach, a brunch spot, a few shops we’d been wanting to check out. The hotel was purely a base. What we needed was a good location and a reasonable price.
I Park Suite landed on both. It’s walkable to Lighthouse Beach (등대해수욕장), about five minutes by car to Jungang Market, and surrounded by restaurants and street food options for
the evening. At ₩146,000 in peak summer, it was hard to find anything comparable in Sokcho. We booked it.

🛏️ Room — City View Deluxe Twin (Upgraded)
We were upgraded at check-in to a room with one king bed and one single — which actually worked out perfectly with a young child. The room felt more like a clean studio apartment than a standard hotel room. Light wood furniture, simple layout, no clutter.
Air conditioning handled the July heat without issue. Blackout curtains did their job (important for kids’ naps). Beds were comfortable. One thing worth knowing: the room has a washing machine and induction cooktop, both listed as amenities on the hotel’s website — but they’re currently off-limits for guests. There’s a notice on them. It’s a bit misleading, so don’t plan around those.

The view from our room was the real surprise. We could see Sokcho Lighthouse from the window, with the sea behind it. For a room at this price point, it was genuinely better than expected.

Bathroom — Clean and well-stocked. Full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (not small single-use bottles). Hot water came through immediately. Bidet included. Two things to flag: water pressure is on the weaker side, and there are no toothbrushes — bring your own.

🏨 Facilities
Kids Zone (6F)
The kids zone is on the 6th floor next to the cafeteria. You sign a quick consent form at the cafeteria before entering, and drinks aren’t allowed inside. The space has two ball pits and some toys — clean and maintained, but small.
Honest take: if you’re expecting a proper indoor play space or multi-level kids’ facility, this won’t hit that. But for a 3–5 year old who wants to jump in a ball pit for 20–30 minutes, it’s genuinely enough. It’s a bonus rather than a draw, but it’s better than most hotels at this price.

Lobby Microwave
Underrated detail: there are several microwaves in the 1st floor lobby, free to use at any time. For families traveling with babies or toddlers who need food heated, this kind of thing actually makes a difference. We saw other families using them throughout our stay.

Cafeteria (6F)
There’s a cafeteria on the 6th floor — useful for a quick breakfast before heading out. Nothing special on its own, but it’s right next to the kids zone, which makes the morning flow a bit easier. Grab coffee, let the kids play, then head out.

Fitness Center
A small fitness space inside the cafeteria area. Basic equipment — enough if you want a quick workout, not worth planning your day around.

📍 Location
This is where I Park Suite really earns its stars. The location is excellent for anyone building a trip around Sokcho’s main highlights.
- 🚶 Lighthouse Beach (등대해수욕장) — walkable
- 🚗 Jungang Market — about 5 minutes by car
- 🚗 Sokcho Beach (속초해수욕장) — about 15 minutes by car
- 🚗 Seoraksan National Park — about 30 minutes by car
- 🍽️ Restaurants & street food — plenty of options in the immediate area
We checked in after a morning at Jungang Market, and checked out heading to Sokcho Beach the next day. Everything flowed naturally — no backtracking, no awkward positioning. For a trip where you’re moving between spots all day, that adds up.

🏁 Final Verdict
I Park Suite Sokcho isn’t a resort, and it doesn’t try to be. What it is: a clean, well-located hotel at a price that actually makes sense for families who are there to explore Sokcho — not spend the day inside the hotel.
For ₩146,000 in July, the location alone justifies the booking. Add clean rooms, working air conditioning, and lobby microwaves for the kids, and the value is hard to argue with. If a fully equipped kids’ facility is your top priority, look elsewhere. But if you’re planning a Sokcho trip around the market, the beaches, and local food, this is a smart base. We’d book it again.
