Hi, I’m Hyunsun — friends call me Sienna
I’m a mom living in Suji, Yongin — just 20 minutes from Everland, on the edge of Seoul. Almost every weekend, my husband, our soon-to-be-four-year-old daughter and I head out to explore somewhere new in Korea.
I’ve been writing about our family trips on my Korean blog for 10 years. Now I want to share that experience with families visiting Korea from abroad — in English, and from a local parent’s point of view.
Weekend in Korea by the numbers
- 10+ visits to Everland — we’re annual pass holders
- 7 family hotels we’ve actually stayed in — Seoul, Pangyo, Hwaseong, Gangneung, Sokcho and Jeju
- 30+ first-hand guides — from Seoul to Gangneung, Sokcho, Suwon, Daegu and Jeju
What makes this blog different
I write about the things visiting families actually want to know. Can you bring a stroller? Which rides work for a child under 90cm? Is the hotel pool good for little ones? Where can you go with kids on a rainy day? We’ve traveled Korea with a stroller and, more recently, without one — so we know both sides.
We’re not about ticking off as many sights as possible. We prefer slower itineraries that don’t wear you out when you have a child in tow.
Meet our family
- Hyunsun (me) — writer and photographer. I studied visual design, so I take my travel photos seriously.
- My husband — driver, bag carrier, and first tester of every place we visit.
- Our daughter — the real judge. Almost four, and newly graduated from her stroller. If she smiles, we recommend it. If she cries, we tell you honestly.
Frequently asked questions
Are your posts sponsored?
No. Every trip on this blog so far has been paid for by us. Some posts include affiliate links (for example, to Agoda or Klook) — if you book through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we write, and if we ever publish a sponsored post, we’ll say so clearly.
What ages are your guides for?
Mostly toddlers and preschoolers. We always try to include the practical details — height limits, stroller access, baby-changing facilities and kid-friendly food.
